Big Data Development Engineer

This position will be responsible for managing the database infrastructure for the new online to offline attribution product, new data ingestion and data matching/management supporting audience and consumer profiling and advertising delivery. The database infrastructure is a cloud based NoSQL environment running in Amazon

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project estimates for database task.
  • Perform all database related tasks.
  • Develop database design documentation.
  • Perform unit testing and debugging of database applications.
  • Perform database tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance.
  • Implement database backup and recovery strategies including high availability.
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional development team.
  • Analyze and translate business requirements into data models.
  • Develop and ensure proper usage of data modeling a, naming and description standards.


  • 3+ years database development experience (relational or NoSql - Postgresql a plus).
  • 3+ year managing database production environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in a big data environment is required.
  • Self motivated learner.
  • Demonstrated experience with bash, Perl, Python, NodeJS or other scripting languages to assist in data ingestion is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux operating systems is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in big data modeling is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in big data modeling is required Experience with Kafka/Storm required - Spark a plus
  • Experience with ETL processing is required.
